Aloha meets Liberty…

This past Saturday night the Maui wedding couple, Danielle and Garrett Wester, had a reception at the Liberty Theater in Puyallup, Washington. The Liberty is a beautiful old theater which was built in 1924 and is used today to host weddings, parties, dances, expos and more…it’s a wonderful facility with great staff! Back to reality for the bride and groom (as well as the family and friends that attended the wedding…not to mention myself and my husband) after enjoying the beautiful and warm island of Maui!! Saturday started out VERY wet, windy and looking to be a wet and miserable evening for all attending (not the reception, just the getting INTO the building!), if this kept up…but someone was looking out for everyone and it dried up a couple of hours before the reception was to begin and really turned out to be a beautiful evening.

Danielle and Garrett greeted their guests as they arrived and then all enjoyed a wonderful meal before the usual toasts, cutting of the cake and first dance…a perfect “second” wedding celebration for them! It was a fun evening…lots of visiting, dancing and photos taken…and now it’s time for Danielle and Garrett to settle down into married life…and just enjoy each and every day together! Congrats!!

They had a “candy bar” which was great fun for the guests to enjoy…and I’m not talking about the kids!!!

Danielle and Garrett stop by the “other” bar shortly before the guest began to arrive!

Aloha…

Just a quick entry to say hello, or Aloha, as they say in Hawaii…and let you all know that I will be home this Sunday and ready to start on all the wedding photos from earlier this month! It’s been a wonderful vacation…weather is IDEAL, we love the location (right on the beach) and of course the opportunity to walk on the beach daily and play in the water is a big bonus…life is good!! Everyone here we’ve met are so friendly, but then again, who wouldn’t be happy if they either lived here or were on vacation here!! We did have a slight set back a couple days ago when my husband came down with gout…which is very painful (according to him and everything I’ve read) and it really limited what he could eat and drink for a couple of days…as well as what he could do…not much fun, but he’s on the mend and we are taking every opportunity to enjoy the last couple of days here on this amazing island!

If you are interested in a session for November, call or email me as soon as possible, dates are filling up fast and if you are interested in family photos for Christmas or gifts, you need to get it done soon!

Here are a few photos from our time here…enjoy and until we are back home…take care!!

Just Maui’d in Paradise…

This past Tuesday, I (along with my wonderful assistant…my husband!) had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Danielle Vesey and Garrett Wester…on the most beautiful island of Maui. How much better could it get? Other than the fact that it was a rather hot afternoon and slightly humid (I know you’re not feeling sorry for us!)…it was just perfect! It’s been over two years since Danielle chose Secret Beach/McKenna Beach as the location and it couldn’t have been a better choice! It’s a public, but secluded beach with some amazing rocks, wonderful fine sand and some great palm trees surrounding it…as I said…beautiful! There was a large group of family and friends that came to share in this special day with Danielle and Garrett…a testament to how much they are loved by one another and those who attended! Here are some photos from the day…

Thank you Danielle and Garrett for asking us to share such a special day with you two…it was our pleasure and we wish you years and years of happiness ahead!

Since we made the trip to this beautiful island, my husband and I decided we needed to make a vacation of it…so we are here for another week…enjoying EVERY minute of it (sorry for those of you who are in the cooler and damp fall weather!)…and will do our best to relax as best we can!! LOL

November is going to be a busy month…lots of sessions already booked as well as the reception for Danielle and Garrett just after we return home! Loving every minute here, but am excited to get home, work up the photos from the past two weddings and for my sessions with my families and seniors…looking forward to every one of them!

Here’s a sunset shot from a walk on the beach the other night…

Kailey turns FOUR…

This morning I had the pleasure of taking Kailey’s four year pictures…I have been taking her pictures since she was a year old…and I love it every year and look forward to seeing her as she grows and changes. Kailey is a beautiful little girl, I can’t believe how much she has grown up in the past year…wow, what a little lady she is!

We even got Kailey’s mom to join her for a few shots…you can see where Kailey gets her looks from!!

Kailey was getting some practice in for Halloween…this is last year’s costume, but if you happen to see a beautiful “Sleeping Beauty” on your porch this Halloween, it just might be her!!

I love her sweet little hands and fingers…and her nail polish was a great match for her dress!

This sweet little girl’s smile is infectious and I couldn’t help but smile and enjoy the time spent with her today! Until next year, Kailey!!

Okay, now I REALLY have to get packed to leave Sunday for the next wedding…it’s really tough to think about shorts, swimsuits and tank tops when it’s wet and cold around here…but I think I can push myself to do it!! ALOHA

Fall Wedding in New York…

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in Batavia, New York. Batavia is located in Western New York, between Buffalo and Rochester. I arrived on Thursday evening and had the pleasure of seeing a bit of the surrounding community on Friday…and just loved it. The countryside was beautiful and the fall colors were early, but splendid…I knew right away that I wanted to return again someday when I had more time to explore the area.

Jessica Palmer and Shawn McAlister were the bride and groom and what a delightful couple. Their hopes were to take some photos outside before the wedding at a local park…but that was all dependent on the weather…and on Friday it was grey and drizzly…and Saturday started out damp, but by the time we had planned to head to the park, it was dry, sunny with clouds and just about perfect! What a great sign for their life together…of good things for them in their future!

We had fun at the park…their dog joined them for some photos and Jessica’s dad brought his Harley there as well…what fun we had! The wedding was in the evening and although quick – it was just perfect…and what fun the reception was…a great group of people…such nice families and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and having the opportunity to share this special day with Jessica and Shawn! They are now enjoying some time as “Mr. and Mrs.” in Cancun and I look forward to sharing all of the photos from their special day with them soon!

In the middle of the brides bouquet is a flower from her great-grandmothers memorial service…a wonderful reminder how special grandmothers are and a way to keep her there for such a special day!

Haley and Alex were adorable as the flower girl and ring bearer…and did a great job, besides looking adorable!

Look what the groom found when he went to get the garter…quite a surprise…to the bride…who was a GREAT sport with this! It certainly added some exitement to the wedding…and later in the evening…it added a bit more spice and laughter!!

This cute little girl was really “swinging” it up on the dance floor…and was so much fun to watch…if she didn’t sleep well that night, I don’t know what would wear her out!

Congratulations Jessica and Shawn…here’s to MANY, MANY years together!

I’m heading out of town again this weekend, another wedding next week…this time in Maui, so keep your eyes peeled for a preview from that in the days following!

Fall Sessions…

Just dropping a quick note to let you know that I’ll be out of town the rest of the month and not available for any sessions in October. Two weddings and a vacation…a busy time, but lots to look forward to and of course, I’ll post some previews from each of the weddings here, so check for those later this month…and maybe even a photo or two from vacation!

With the holidays moving in closer, you are probably thinking about family photos and November is a great time to get them done. Often the weather is still really nice, with some of the beautiful fall colors still lingering on! There are already a couple of weekend days that are booked, so if you are interested, contact me and I’ll get a date on the books for you, so you are sure to get them done.

Returning clients will get an extra $20 credit towards their photo purchase during the month of November and new clients receive a free 5 x 7 with their orders. Seniors, families, babies, couples…whatever you would like, I’d love to capture some great photos for you…so feel free to email me (I will have my computer with me during my travels) at terri@terribeloitphotography.com

Happy October to everyone, enjoy the GREAT colors and I hope to see you next month!

Terri

Cutting it Close!

Yesterday I had a maternity/mom-dog photo session with a good friend (and talented fellow photographer). The weather was nice, dry, some sun, some clouds and comfortable temperatures… compared to the day before and today…it was the perfect day! Rian looks great…her due date is this weekend and I was amazed at how she moved around and how wonderful she looked…this is her first and she was excited and nervous…all at the same time! I also photographed Rian with her dog, Tucker, who has cancer and she wanted some photos with him while he was still doing okay. Tucker is a really sweet dog, very affectionate (I can vouch for that from the big, wet kisses he gave me!) and quite gentle. My granddaughter “helped” out and Tucker was wonderful with her. Here are some shots from our session…

And, when I said cutting it close…that was because this evening I got a call from Rian and she delivered this afternoon…so 24 hours after the session, she was holding her new son in her arms! Wow…I’m just glad she didn’t go into labor during the session…but then again, she was talking about what to do to “encourage” labor, so maybe the session was the key! Who knows…I’m just very excited and happy for Rian, her husband and their new son! Congrats!!!
