Family time…

Not only is it time for a family session, but this is part of my family in this session. My son, Josh, his wife, Miranda, and their daughter, Jayden. They were part of my dual sessions on Saturday and again, the weather worked out for us…though a tad cold…we all survived! You’ve all seen Jayden…probably the most photographed four year old around…and of course, my favorite subject…and as today, occasionally, her parents get in on the photos. Always fun, they are eager to do about anything and love having frequent updated family photos! So, here are a few from that afternoon (okay, so I’m a bit biased and have more than a few!)…enjoy…I sure did!

The “J’s”

Saturday morning it was a tad cool and slight sprinkling, but not enough to hold up another session! This morning I was meeting the Joyce family…Jeremy, Jennifer and Joshua! They arrived at our planned location, ready to go and although Joshua, three, wasn’t sure he was going to like this and seemed to think he didn’t want to smile, I managed to get some pretty cute smiles from him! Of course, being “three” means you do what you want when you want…which is challenging for me, but as I’ve said before, I always love challenges! My husband is GREAT at entertaining the kids and today he didn’t let me downn(he never does). And although by the end of the session we were all a bit cold…it was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the family and hope they will like the shots I got!

Nearly Perfect

Today I watched an adorable six month old baby…Jack! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing him a couple of times in the past months, so as you can imagine, today I couldn’t resist “playing” in the studio with him a bit! I’ll tell you, he is the happiest baby I think I’ve ever seen…so good and just content to sit and play…or let you entertain him…he was great today! We had fun in the studio and a good day together…and here are a few of my favorites from today with Jack!

“All in the Family”

Last Sunday afternoon I met up with the extended Perry family at Wright Park in Tacoma. The weather had been playing games all day and at times it was very wet and windy, but we were fortunate that it all let up for the time we were there. A few sprinkles, but nothing that stopped up from capturing some special memories for this family. Ken is the man responsible for this group (along with is deceased wife, Ruth)…and it was my pleasure to photograph them this afternoon. These days with the busy lives that families have, it’s important to make the time for moments like this…and I hope they will all cherish these photos for years to come!

Great afternoon…

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I started last Saturday with a sweet little one year old, Addyson…and my afternoon went to the opposite end of the alphabet…to Zac…a really neat kid who is in his senior year at Emerald Ridge in Puyallup. It was really nice to meet Zac…he was fun and easy to work with! We had a few locations and although it had warmed up some from the morning, it still wasn’t that warm…I think it topped out at 47 degrees that day…still a tad cool!! Zac didn’t complain about the locations and was easy to photograph…he knew how to mix up the smiles with the serious looks and made my job even easier! He brought along his parents and with my husband as my “very able bodied assistant” we all had a good afternoon in Tacoma! Here are some from the session…but there are a ton more…hope you enjoy them!

Stacey and Ike…thank you for the pizza and beer at the end of the day…it was great to visit – and warm up!!

Incredibly sweet…

Saturday morning I met Addyson and her parents at a local park for her one year session. When she was six months old, I had the pleasure of meeting her and her parents for a session and found all of them to be fun and Addyson especially, who was a perfect little model!! With fall upon us, we had concerns if it would be dry or not…and it was dry, although VERY cold…just 37 degrees, which turned out to be too chilly for sweet little Addyson (okay, I’ll confess, I was cold as well!). After a bit, it was obvious that it wasn’t going to work outside, so we went to their home and once she had warmed up (and had a little snack!), she was great…in the comfort of her home, with her toys and surroundings she knew, her eyes lit up as did her smiles. She, again, was a great little model, although mobile now…which certainly keeps me on my toes…it was so much fun to watch her personality and listen to her babble as she played and explored! It was obvious that she is NOT afraid of much…and quite the little adventurer…her parents will be busy with her in the years ahead, but what a delight…she’s so sweet and precious! Again, it was my pleasure to capture some special photos for Addyson and her parents…a wonderful family! Thank you, James and Tammy, I hope you enjoy these…and the rest when the gallery is ready!

A delightful afternoon

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of photographing the Lackey Family. It’s been three years since I first met Mike and Kim, when I photographed their wedding on New Year’s Eve. Makaela, Kim’s daughter was the flower girl and although a tad camera shy, she was adorable in her dress and was so sweet…Mike, Kim and Makaela became a family that evening and I was honored to be asked to capture some memories for them that day. At the park this week I met two new family members – Kaden, their nine month old son and Ziggy, Makaela’s new dog…they have grown into a very sweet family and it was wonderful to see them again.

After some fairly wet weather around here lately, we were a bit nervous about what the day we’d scheduled would bring. Much to our delight, we had a beautiful afternoon, a tad cool, but dry and even some sunshine…a perfect fall day! I must say that trying to get the attention of two dogs and a baby is certainly a challenge, but I’m always up for a good challenge and am happy if I can get at least one of them to look my way!! LOL Kaden was so much fun, a happy baby who adores his big sister, who can really get him smiling and laughing! Thank you, Makaela, for being a super assistant! And, she was also scouting locations for photos…and was not at all camera shy this time…you’ve got it, Makaela!! We got some great shots that day and I hope that Kim and Mike will enjoy these photos and that it will hold them over until the gallery is ready! Thank you for again, choosing me to photograph your family…I had a great time with all of you!
