A Challenge…

I’d like to ask a favor of you…I’m trying to “bump” up the number of fans on my FACEBOOK page and would like your help. If you are already a fan, GREAT, then could you share my site with your family and friends…and if you’re not a fan, then head on over and sign up! Well, it’s not really “signing up” it’s all a matter of a click and you’ve got it! My goal is to add 100 fans by the end of March and IF I can get there, then I’m offering every client who books a session during March a set of free wallets. Now, you just have to book the session in March, you don’t have to actually have it in March. So…let’s see what we can do…I know that with every one’s help, it’s possible and I’d be forever grateful! Also…if by chance we go over that…well, then, there will be even better things for those who book this month! I have 60 fans now and my goal is 160…let’s get started!!!!

Beautiful Girls, Wonderful Products

I have the pleasure of working with a couple of talented gals who are not only moms (a tough job in itself), but also running a home business between the two of them…and this is called Kiwi and Kiki (http://www.kiwiandkiki.com/). Kerry and Kristin are sisters and have some really fun products and it’s obvious they are quite talented. We sort of “met” last summer when I purchased a couple of items from them, one being a great tutu that I have used a few times with my little girls! These gals remembered me when I returned to look at more of their creations and I told them I’d share some photos…and from that…a working relationship evolved! We’ve used their adorable daughters the past couple of sessions and I must say, they are AWESOME models and so much fun. Here are a few examples of what we got last week…be sure to go check out their website…and I promise you, you’ll love their stuff!

Beautiful little Lily turned FOUR the day after this session…she’s going to break hearts when she gets older!!
Lily is Abby’s big sister…and she’s very caring and attentive.
Maddie…oh, my she’s such a sweet heart and those eyes, WOW…she’s definitely a charmer!
And this is Abby…or is it Abner…I’ll never tell!! :~)

Oregon Senior

Last weekend, during our visit to Oregon, I had the privilege of taking senior pictures for a very lovely young woman. Laura, a senior at The Dalles-Wahtonka High School, is a beautiful person…inside and out! I had met her once before, a couple years ago while visiting their farm with our granddaughter. Laura was so kind and generous with her time that first visit…she took us around their farm to show us all the animal and she even climbed into the pen with the pigs to get one of the babies….so we could hear it squeal…and SQUEAL, it did! I was very impressed with her back then…and even more so during her session. She was easy to photograph and a natural in front of the camera…here are just a few of the images from that afternoon!

Sweet Sisters

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting two beautiful little sisters. The oldest is Giselle and she is just 15 months old and her new baby sister, Stella, is about 3 weeks old. These little ones were so sweet and even if a tad tired, they were a delight to photograph! With such little ones, you can’t always plan the session…they do THEIR thing, which is just fine with me…because, it truly is all about THEM! Here’s a couple “peeks” from the session…and in a few days their gallery will be up for their family to check out…ENJOY!

Weekend getaway…

This past weekend my husband and I headed south for The Dalles, OR, where my brother and his family live. We took our granddaughter with us as at my brother’s place, there are six new “kids” – aka, baby goats and we knew she’d LOVE seeing them!

With the amazing weather we’ve had around here lately, the drive down was great, clear and we could see all the mountains as we headed down I-5 and then east on I-84…what a glorious drive. We quickly checked into our motel before heading to the local high school to catch my niece, Sydney, play basketball. This was the first opportunity we’ve had to watch her and WOW…did the team put on a great show…they took it to TRIPLE OT and in the end, WON!! How exciting and as you can imagine…I photographed the game as well…what fun that was!
Saturday morning we headed to my brother’s place and the first thing we did…check out the kids…oh, they are SO darn cute…and yes, Jayden fell in love with them! And, she even got to help with the feeding of a couple of them whose moms won’t feed them…and she thought that was great. Her favorite…a little boy named, Sambo…who she was often trying to carry around (poor little guy…he was probably happy when we left on Sunday…LOL)…it was very sweet! That afternoon we enjoyed a nice hike and had a great meal while watching the Olympics that evening. We stayed at my brother’s place that night and the next morning my husband, brother and myself got up for sunrise over the Columbia River…it was clear and beautiful….and a tad chilly (23 degrees!)…but oh, so worth it! THANKS, Scott for suggesting that!

After breakfast and another goat feeding, we headed to some friends’ of their who have a farm with even more goats, pigs, puppies, geese, cats and more…and wow, did Jayden ever enjoy that! Then, time to head back home…after a glorious weekend…what a fun time and great memories…oh, and a few (hahaha!) photos as well!
On each end of the weekend, I had a session…Friday before we left, I had the pleasure of photographing two darling little sisters in the studio and then while at the farm in The Dalles, I took senior photos for a beautiful gal who was a delight to photograph. That made the weekend just perfect…can’t get any better! So, look for those blogs in the next couple of days.

The rain has returned here at home…and as much as I LOVE the sunshine, I know we need the rain…and it beats snow…since we have flowers starting to bloom and I’ve seen cherry blossom trees also beginning to bloom…it’s crazy that it’s still February….but I won’t complain!

Happy Valentine’s Day…

I hope that everyone has had a great Valentine’s Day…and was able to spend it with those you love and enjoy spending time with…because that is what the day is all about! My day has been great…my wonderful husband, Rick, and I enjoyed breakfast at our favorite little cafe (Auntie B’s on Meridian in Puyallup) in town – and picked up coffee on the way…FORZA (http://www.forzacoffeecompany.com/) in downtown Puyallup – the BEST.  Normally Rick is our Sunday morning cook, but yesterday he had breakfast duties as our 4 year old granddaughter, Jayden, had spent the night and she wanted to fix pancakes with “papa” so they fixed a great breakfast that morning. That made it easy for this morning to decide to go out! After breakfast…we were back at home and while Rick watched the Daytona 500, I caught up on email and read a few blogs…and later we were able to deliver Valentine cards to both our kids (and spouses) as well as Jayden.  Dinner at home was AWESOME…if I don’t say so myself…and way better than fighting the crowds at the restaurants, let alone the expense! Here are a few pics from our great dinner…how can I not take a photo or two, of our great meal!

Pretty nice presentation, huh, not bad for for someone who really doesn’t do this sort of thing normally!
Chocolate Martini’s…a perfect drink on this day of love and chocolate!!
Our dessert…Molten Mocha Cake…yummy and very easy to make!
As I think about Valentine’s Day…it reminds me of those I love and care about…and just what they mean to me. Family and good friends, that is what life is all about! Hopefully, you have been able to celebrate today with those you love and enjoy spending time with…and maybe even enjoy a bite (or two!!!) of some good chocolate…because what would Valentine’s Day be without some great chocolate!?!
It’s now time to head to bed…but I hope you all have had a nice weekend and if you happen to have a long weekend with President’s Day tomorrow…I hope that you are able to take some time to relax and do some things you enjoy and to appreciate all that you have!

AND… a photo I took yesterday morning of three of my favorite people…my husband, granddaughter and our dog….a photo I love of some special people in my life!!

Beautiful blessing…

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of meeting baby Brylee who was just 9 days old! At just 6 pounds at birth and a tad under that now, she is little bitty…and ever so sweet! And, the hair she has…I’m sure that while in the nursery at the hospital, many other babies were quite envious…hair bows and clips will adorn her head much sooner than most newborns, I’m sure! During the session at Brylee and her parents home, we had the heat turned up so she wouldn’t get too cold during the “naked” shots. And, she amazed me and was awake for the entire session…now how often does a newborn stay awake for nearly 1 1/2 hours…although I must say her parents were thrilled and hoping this would mean she’d sleep more at night when so far had seemed to be her best awake hours!   It was a delight to meet Brylee, her mom, dad and big brother (the four-legged kind!) – thank you for a great afternoon! Here are a few previews of the session to hold her parents over until the gallery is ready!
