And baby…will soon make four!

Shannon is a beautiful “expectant mother” in the last month of her pregnancy. She was a great subject with an incredible figure…even if little Erica is lying sideways inside Shannon! The session was fun, relaxing and inspiring…I’m always in awe of these amazing expectant mothers who look SOOO good during their pregnancy! Eric, Shannon’s husband and Alanna, their four year old daughter, joined in for some of the photos…making a nice first “new family” photo!

Hedman Fun Family…

Well, after the babies yesterday morning, I had the joy of photographing the whole family today at Wright Park in Tacoma! What a GREAT group…so much fun, great looking and such nice people! My husband, Rick, joined me and was a huge help (as he calls his job…Sherpa) with hauling everything around the park…don’t know if I could have done it without him! The Hedman clan consisted of Neil and Normajean, their sons, Nick and Nathan and their wife’s, Sharon and April and kids…for a total of 6 adults and 7 children! Talk about active and energy…sure wish I had half of what they do. We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather…it was about 55 degrees, clear skies, GREAT fall colors and an occasional light breeze (to bring down some more leaves!)…it was perfect! Days and people like this is why I LOVE portrait photography!!!

What Cuties!!!

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing two adorable boys. Both are 8 months old and are cousins…Bennett and Hudson. Hudson is from Chicago and the two are now just getting “acquainted” with one another. They were great little models and both gave some great expressions and smiles for me.

Hudson gets into the laundry!

Bennett is quite the ham and was a great sport with his hat!

Hudson gets a bit of time with his mom, April.

She’s THREE!

Yesterday I had so much fun with Kailey, who is now three years old. It’s been great fun to watch her grow and change as I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Kailey for her one year, two year and now three year pictures. Kids are amazing and each one is different and unique and I love them all…you never know what you’ll get with them, and that is half the fun! I must say that Kailey is one who probably has the most expressions of anyone I’ve every photographed…and I love it as I never know what I’ll get, but I do know that I love all of them. She is a very sweet girl, very “girly” and quite bright…there’s no fooling her. A little bribery was involved with the last part of the shoot, to get her into her tutu and to let me photograph her in it. I’d hoped for some more, but I’m happy with what I got…and now look forward to when she turns four! THANK YOU, Kailey!

Beautiful Baby!

Well, with a beautiful new little baby next door, how could I wait much longer to photograph the little one! This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing Amelia…along with her mom. She was a delight and although she really didn’t want to sleep during the session (I was hoping for some “sleeping baby” shots!), we got some wonderful photos. There are still a few more we’ll try to get some evening when she’s a bit more tired, and hopefully bring in her dad for a few photos as well. Enjoy these…Amelia is adorable and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her this past weekend!

New "little" neighbor!

Good morning! What an exciting weekend it was around our part of the neighborhood! Early Saturday morning I got a call from our neighbors, Greg and Leah, that it was “time” for their baby to enter the world! I quickly headed over to stay at the house while Luke slept. Not long after they left (a couple of hours), I got the call that Amelia Marie had arrived and was not so little…she weighed in at 9 lbs. 4 ozs! And, she was two weeks early…it’s a good thing she was early! Of course, I couldn’t wait until Luke woke up to share the news and get him dressed and fed, so we could head to the hospital so he could meet his new baby sister! How exciting for their family…it was so touching to see Luke walk in and say “mommy” and then “Amelia” as he walked up to them! Of course, being 21 months old, Luke was interested, but after receiving a gift (helicopter) from “Amelia” he interest was diverted! Mom and baby came through it just great and are doing beautifully, both home now and getting adjusted to a slight change in their family life! Naturally, I’m thrilled for them and looking forward to watching Amelia grow, as we’ve watched Luke grow…they are a GREAT family and wonderful neighbors and friends!

Friday, the day before, Amelia arrived, I watched Luke while Greg and Leah went to the doctor. I couldn’t resist taking a couple of photos of him while he played on my newest “toy” – the airplane! He had fun and I did as well.

Whenever Luke is in my studio, he heads right for my “tickler” (which is really a feather duster!) and he had fun with that…and used it to “tickle” my dog, Aussie.

Back home again…

After a wonderful visit with my mom at Hayden Lake, I’m back home again and catching up on all the photos I have taken in the past few weeks. In addition to the Shultz wedding last month, I had some photos from a family session with our neighbors, Greg, Leah and Luke Borgerding…oh, and little Amelia, who hasn’t yet made her appearance, but it won’t be long till she’s here! What a GREAT family, we love them and are truly blessed to have them as neighbors. Here’s a photo from that session!

While in Idaho, I had the opportunity to do two shoots. The first was with a darling little girl, Jacqueline, who had just turned two. What a doll and so sweet! I had a blast…children are so free spirited and not worried about how they look or what they should do for the camera…that’s what I think I love about photographing kids! We spent quite a bit of time at a park in Hayden and her mom and grandma joined us…but I think it was Jacqueline and I that had the most fun!

The day after that, I drove to Priest Lake where my sister, Sarah, and her family have a place. Her daughter, Leah, is a senior this year, so I had the pleasure of taking her senior photos. Leah is an absolutely beautiful girl and was SO easy to photograph…when you have subjects that pretty and comfortable in front of the camera, it makes my job very easy. They picked a great location for the photos and the weather worked out beautifully! My drive up there (about 2 hours) started out fairly cool and grey and by the time I got there, it was lighter, but still cloudy, which was the perfect natural soft box for the shoot! The sun did start to peek out occasionally at the end, then we knew it was time to leave. The location…Granite Falls, about 10 miles south of the Canadian border and it was a very short hike from the parking to the falls and as you can see, it was perfect! I love the beauty of the great outdoors, combined with the natural beauty of a young woman as well as her family! Here are a few shots from that morning!

Now, it’s back to work on more photos…and I’ll post again later…with more photos from a session, or some of my own, just for fun ones!
