Piper…and her Parents | {Olympia Family Photography}

This beautiful little girl, Piper, who recently turned three, has been fun to watch grow up. I first met her when she was just six months old and on the gorgeous day we had for her family’s session, it was delightful to see how Piper is growing into a beautiful and fun little girl! She really is stunning, beautiful hair and eyes that sparkle and shine and her personality is even brighter and she’s easy going and tons of fun to play with. This was the first time I had the pleasure of photographing her whole family, last year, it was just she and her mom…so getting all of them together was wonderful! Dad (aka, Brandon) warned me he doesn’t smile a lot and wasn’t as excited about the session as mom (aka, Varvara) and Piper, but in the end, he was great and I think (hope) enjoyed the time we spent “playing” with Piper. It’s funny, a three year old…nearly any three year old…is full of energy, independent, stubborn and cute as can be when they are doing what they want…and Piper literally stole the show on this afternoon! She didn’t always follow our suggestions, as most kids don’t, but she was awesome and I loved capturing her beautiful spirit and showing just what loving and caring parents she has. And, then there are her parents…who are a gorgeous couple and the love for one another is obvious…I SO enjoyed capturing a few of just them together! Just talking with all of them was enjoyable, they are such nice and down to earth people who are easy to talk to and are grounded…and are awesome parent and an awesome couple!

Oh, how I loved watching dad and daughter…it’s obvious that Piper TOTALLY idolizes her dad and that is a beautiful thing to see!

Gorgeous family….

Bubbles…always a hit with this age…oh wait, big and little, they all enjoy the bubbles!

This smile…lights up a sunny day!!

Oh how I absolutely LOVE this photo….you can see the connection between these two…such an incredible sight!

What three year old doesn’t love “swinging” while walking with her parents…you can see just how much Piper is enjoying it!!

Thank you, Brandon, Varvara and Piper…I had a blast with all of you…thank you for entrusting me to capture some special memories of your family!

Sweet Baby Ryder | {Puyallup Newborn Photographer}

What a joy it was to see this little bundle of joy with his parents, who I’d met earlier this spring when I took their maternity photos. Ryder surprised his parents with arriving early, 10 days, so not too bad, but a surprise, nonetheless! Mom, aka Magi, was happy and ready…and when little Ryder arrived, they were delighted beyond belief…and have now been adjusting to a new life, with a little one and a life (for a while at least!) with less sleep! First time parents, Magi and Thomas are totally in love with their new son in awe of everything he does…as with any new parent, just watching your new baby and seeing what they do, or the facial expressions, the stretches and oh, so much more…it’s a wondrous thing that they are embracing!!  One part of my job that I love (of OH, so many parts!!), is when I have newborns, getting to hold, cuddle, and adore these beautiful little ones and on the day I met Ryder, I had two babies (both boys) and that just made my day extra special! Ryder fooled me to start, he was very relaxed and mellow and I figured he would fall asleep quickly…but, he had other things in mind…while not fussy, he was just awake and I just laughed since I had made the statement that he’d be asleep in no time…haha, guess I won’t say that again! When he did get to sleep…he was out and was a perfect little model! Here is this adorable and precious little one…enjoy!!

This amazing quilt was made for Ryder by one of Magi’s friends…such incredible talent and it’s perfect…love that it matches his coming home outfit with the pirates!!

And, I couldn’t resist sharing this photo again…it was a “sneak peek” right after the session…it was just too funny to not put in this blog. I’m not sure if Ryder doesn’t want his photo taken or if he’s not wanting to see his parents kissing…or maybe both…whatever it is, I absolutely love it…so funny!!

And, one more that I want to share…a “before and after” with Ryder’s adorable little outfit!!

Welcome Carson | {Puyallup Newborn Photographer}

What a delight to finally get to meet this handsome boy, Carson, who joined his parents the middle of May. He was a bit later than his parents would have liked, but dad and mom…also known as Jerad and LeeAnn, were thrilled nonetheless!! It’s been my pleasure to photograph this couple for several years, starting with their engagement and then their wedding…and now, it’s SO exciting to see them as parents! Both are very in love with their new son and I could see they already know this new job of theirs is the best one they will ever have.

Carson is loved and very blessed…and such a blessing to both of his parents and all of their families…the first grandchild on both sides of the family…he’s such a lucky little guy! Can’t wait to watch him grow and see his family evolve…that is what life is all about after all!! Congrats Jerad and LeeAnn…Carson is a doll!!

Kinsley turns TWO | {Puyallup Children’s Photographer}

What a delight to see Kinsley as she celebrated her second birthday. It had been a year and oh, how much fun it is to see how these little ones grow and change over the time between sessions! And, how fortunate were we to have such a beautiful day to “play” outside for her session. Mom had a very cute little tank for her to wear with a sparkly tutu and it was obvious that Kinsley is quite happy to be all GIRL! Of course, she is also two and she also enjoyed exploring and really enjoyed the bubbles which were a great prop/bribe during the session. The smiles and sweetness just oozed from this adorable little girl during the entire session…I think she could have gone on longer…she seemed to be having as much fun as I was…such a cutie…as you can see!

Baby Shower…with Emma | {Blessed and Precious}

Here I go again…another very personal post…and since it’s Mother’s Day…I figure that I have the right to share with you a LOT of photos from a very special day in our family’s life! Last Saturday we finally had the baby shower for our daughter…which had been postponed as it was scheduled for just two days after she delivered her daughter, 5 weeks early! Of course, no one expects a baby to arrive early and this little gift was no different…family and friends were surprised and concerned, worried and hopeful about Jessalyn who was soon to bring her daughter, Emma, into the world, not as planned, but it was going to happen and there wasn’t anything that could be done, but to hope and pray that all would be fine! And, it is…Emma was in the hospital for three weeks before coming home with her parents, Jessalyn and Sean,  and now she’s six weeks old and doing wonderfully! Both of our families are so thankful that all is well and this shower was a great opportunity to celebrate this beautiful little girl!! Family and friends gathered and we welcomed Emma’s attendance, which wouldn’t have been the case if she’d been born on schedule. Naturally, everyone was excited to see/meet Emma and get a chance to hold this sweet little girl.  We enjoyed some wonderful snacks, DELICIOUS cupcakes by Angel Cakes, we made some adorable headbands, hats and hair clips to adorn Emma’s tiny head, played a few games and shared in the excitement of the thoughtful, useful and cute gifts she received. Thanks to the incredible friends, Danielle, Jenny and Allison who helped with all the details, this shower was a huge success…it wasn’t quite as we had originally planned, but it was perfect in the end!! Thank you to ALL who shared in our celebration…we are so blessed with wonderful people in our lives to share such a joyous time!

Mother’s Day…a day when we recognize those someone who has been probably one of the most influential people in our lives…someone who has loved us unconditionally and stood by us, through thick and thin, picked us up when we’ve been at our lowest and lifted us up without batting an eye…I can’t imagine life without my mom…she’s has been an AMAZING role model for me…she’s strong, confident, hard working, loving, caring, thoughtful and oh, so much more…I could go on and on…and I don’t think I could ever thank her enough for all she has given me in my years…which have helped to create the person I am and the mother I am to my son and daughter. As I think about my daughter, my baby…now being a mother herself, it brings tears to my eyes, I’m so happy for her and her husband, they are and will be INCREDIBLE parents…they are so blessed and I’m so happy for for them…it’s an amazing thing to see life continue, families continue to grow – and to know that our sweet granddaughter, Emma, has a very special life ahead of her…with a mother and father that love her unconditionally and that whatever she wants in life…she can achieve…you go Emma…and to our beautiful daughter, Happy Mother’s Day, Jess…LOVE you!!!!

Tinker Bell & Abby…CELEBRATE | {Orting Event Photography}

My oh my…sharing an afternoon with Tinker Bell and a lovely little three year old…it certainly doesn’t get much better than that! Sweet Abby turned three last month and low and behold, but who should appear at her birthday, but her favorite Disney character…Tinker Bell! The guests, fairies, princesses, pirates and even a few “humans”  were excited and loved sharing their time with this beautiful fairy who is close friends with Peter Pan (as well as Cinderella!!).  Lots of wonderful snacks and treats, delicious cupcakes, Pixie dust, face painting, balloon creations, SUPER fun gifts and LOTS of smiles filled the afternoon and I do believe that this celebration was one that will be remembered by many…even those who are young at heart…Tinker Bell was a delight and so wonderful with the little guests…and very excited to share in seeing all of the fun (many Tinker Bell) gifts that Abby received!  One very precious story I just have to share with you all…one of the guests, and a cousin of the guest of honor, asked Tinker Bell how come she was so big…she said she thought she was much smaller. Tinker Bell told her that she had special powers to be “big” for special occasions and that as soon as the party was over, she would return to her usual size…oh, out of the mouths of babes….LOVE IT!!!   Now, it’s time for you to take a few minutes, step back in time and remember those wonderful childhood memories as you browse through the photos from this magical birthday celebration!!

Tinker Bell gave Abby a very special little wand that she had to wave over Tinker Bell so that she would soon return to her normal (small) size and be able to fly back to Never Never Land…poor Abby didn’t want her to leave and was reluctant to wave the want…so big sister, Lily, helped out a bit!The kids were very sad to see Tinker Bell leave…they watched her for as far as they could see her…until she disappeared and became too small for them to see…truly a priceless moment!!So very sad that her special new friend had to leave!!

Sweet Abby…many wishes for years and years of magical memories and a lifetime of believing that anything is possible!!

Magi & Thomas…expecting | {Puyallup Maternity Photography}

Just over a week ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Magi and her husband, Thomas…who are expecting their first child. Anyone who has had children knows that expectant parents are so fun to be around and this couple was certainly no exception. Magi and I had communicated via email and she said she was a bit uncertain about maternity photos, but had been encouraged by friends and c0-workers to get them done. I do hope that after she sees these, she will be happy she had them done…she is truly glowing and looks beautiful. Yes, when you are pregnant, our bodies are not anything like they were before, but it’s what is happening inside that is truly a miracle and a blessing…and this couple is quite excited about their little one, a boy, Ryder, who is due to arrive around the end of May. Not being one that is often on the other side of the camera, it’s hard for me to truly say, but I do know that it’s a bit uncomfortable being the “star” when a camera is focused on you and it can be a bit nerve wracking…but I think (hope!) that it wasn’t long before these two were more at ease and I LOVED seeing the interaction between the two of them, the smiles, the laughs and the adoration they have for one another…it was incredible!! Most new parents are a bit excited and nervous about the upcoming delivery and arrival of their little one and Magi and Thomas are feeling just that way, but I could certainly tell that once Ryder arrives, they will forget any of their nerves and just welcome and love him fully and completely! I can’t wait until this little guy arrives and look forward to meeting him…and eventually introducing him to all of you!Magi is SO beautiful…what a delight to have a chance to get to know her a bit and discover the inner beauty that matches the outside!!You can see the looks and the laughs…I LOVED this part of our session!

Stunning…….

When you do meet Ryder…you will be seeing this adorable little outfit on him…can’t wait for that day!!

Thank you, Magi and Thomas for sharing some of your time with me…I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the two of you and look forward to meeting Ryder in a month or so!
