Family…LOVE | {Auburn Family Photography}

One of the perks of my job is getting to know some great people and being able to watch their families grow throughout the years…and this family is one of those!! I first met the Jacobson family shortly after Indy was born, and she is now two years old! This past spring, they added Joey to their family and you met him a few weeks after he joined Indy and her parents, Jason and Katie. Now, he’s getting bigger and stronger and Indy is cuter than ever…my oh my, I had so much fun with this family! We started out with the kids and immediate family, then later on added more family.

Joey is a cutie and I loved his expressions during the session…
These two sibling are adorable and as close as they are in age, I know they will be close friends and be there for one another as they grow up…aren’t they the cutest!The hat is perfect…kudos to mom…aka, Katie, for her great taste in outfits for both of the kids…LOVE them!!Indy was a sweetheart…it’s fun to see how she’s grown this past year and she was quite the charmer…books and the trampoline seemed to be some of her favorite things this beautiful afternoon!Isn’t that smile the best!!!!!Such a cutie…What a beautiful family, they are so blessed with beautiful and healthy children…And, here is Katie’s younger brother, Joe and his wife, Michaela…along with their “child,” Maya…aren’t they a GREAT looking family!!Maya was fun to have around that afternoon…she managed to sneak into as many photos as she possibly could…she didn’t want to be left out!!And, now we add older brother, Matt, and his wife, Rachel. They have a daughter, Lila, who is precious…just look at that face, she just draws you right now…such a sweetie! She is just a little bit older than Joey…how fun the cousins are so close in age that they can all grow up together!

We even managed to add Matt and Rachel’s other “child,” Ceba, to a photo to complete the family…they all look great, even if Ceba’s attention was otherwise focused!!

Lila has certainly wrapped her parents around her little finger, they are completely devoted to their beautiful daughter!!

And, we now add Boppa and Mimi, aka…Marv and Chris, to the family…how fortunate they are to have such great children who have found the loves of their lives and such wonderful grandchildren…truly a very blessed family!!

The kids and grandkids…what a nice looking group…and all so much fun and great sports!!As a grandma (also a Mimi) myself…I know how much it means to have grandchildren and to spend time with this…It’s obvious that Boppa and Mimi are loving their grandchildren and cherish the times with them!And now, we have Jason’s family…his mom and dad, Sue and Jack, along with GG and Poppop, Betty and Thor, who as you can see certainly adore their newest grandchild, Joey, and there is Jason’s sister, Jenny and her husband, Jeremy…along with Jason, Katie, Indy and Joey…oh, how I love when families all gather together…the generations are wonderful for sharing great memories and creating new ones!!You can see that GG is completely wrapped up in little Joey…and I believe it’s mutual…such a priceless moment!!And, the session ended with Indy showing off her “car” which matches (according to Indy) her Grandpa’s (Jack) car…we had to highlight these amazing vehicles!!!Someday Indy won’t be able to fit in this, but knowing the love that brought it to her will be cherish and the memories of her Grandpa and “their cars” will last a lifetime!!Indy has grown and changed so much since her one year session…what fun it is to see how she’s growing up (and a bit sad as well)…and seeing her as a bit sister was delightful!!Doing it “her way” – a girl after my own heart!!Oh, how I loved sharing the afternoon with your families…Katie and Jason, you are great parents and have such wonderful families…I’m glad we were able to capture some memories for all of you…that I hope will last a lifetime and beyond!!

Nicholas | {Foss HS 2013 Senior}

On a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of getting to know a 2013 senior and enjoying the beauty of a local park…life is good! Nicholas is a senior at Foss High School and looking forward to graduation next spring! As with most seniors, they are focused on the future, after high school and he is no different, although he is excited to experience all that this year has to offer and to spend time with his friends, some of which will go away to school and life will certainly change for all of them after graduation! One of Nicholas’ big loves is dirt biking and he was excited that he had the opportunity to bring it out for the session…but bummed he couldn’t ride it in the park! I could see he certainly would have LOVED to start it up…and even “teased” his mom as he pretended to start it!! If we were in a location where he could have ridden, it would have been great to capture some of him in action…I can only imagine how he would love loved that as well. He’s been ridding most of his life and it is part of who he is! Nicholas also enjoys spending time with his family and has a great sense of humor. He’s quiet, but oh, that’s just a cover…for a funny and quick thinking individual who was a lot of fun to get to know and a great sport during the session!!

Although Nicholas isn’t  planning on becoming a Cougar next year, he does plan on that in time…smart guy!!!

It was a pleasure to meet you, Nicholas, and I wish for a a year ahead filled with great memories (and smart choices…no fast bikes!!!)…and a future full of everything you can imagine!!

Baby Wyatt…LOVED | {Puyallup Newborn Photograhy}

Another very handsome little guy gets to make his debut on my blog! Little Wyatt was just 13 days old when I met him…and his parents. He was asleep when he arrived, but soon woke up and it was obvious he didn’t want to miss a thing during the session. He was awake most of the session, and seemed just happy to be observing everything…as long as he was cozy and comfortable.  A lovely evening in August, there isn’t much better than hanging out with a new baby…and of course, his parents! I’m sure blessed to have the opportunity to meet and photograph these new little people. And, better yet, when I get to watch them grow up…oh how I LOVE it!!

Mom and dad are sure beaming with pride and joy as they look upon their new little son. Wyatt was loved before he was even born, but seeing the bond that has developed in such a short time with his parents…truly amazing and such a gift for both he and his parents!Just look at how alert little Wyatt was…he was like this a majority of the session!When he finally gave in and fell asleep…he was OUT…as you can see, so relaxed and cozy!!!I can’t tell you just how many smiles this little guy gave me during the session…more than I’ve ever had from a newborn…such a happy and content baby, he was the best!!LOVE the long eyelashes…the little details are the sweetest!!Baby Wyatt…loved and adored by his mom and dad…and although he’s changing their lives forever, I know they wouldn’t change a thing about it.

Rob and Dianna…I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and Wyatt and look forward to seeing you all again in a few months…to see your little guy grow and change makes my job the BEST!!

Brothers…Matthew & Cameron | {Tacoma Family Photography}

What a fun session I had with these two brothers…both as cute as a button and so very sweet. Matthew and Cameron maybe be brothers, but it was already obvious they will be friends…for life…watching how great Matthew was with Cameron, concerned and caring, was such a heartwarming sight. And, it’s quite evident that Cameron LOVES his big brother and he can’t wait until he’s moving a bit faster to keep up with him. Boys…both are all boy and full of energy, moving constantly and HAPPY!! These little guys were visiting family with their mom…they are from Florida and I loved that I had the chance to meet and photograph them. We met at the UW Tacoma campus as that is where both mom and dad went to school, so it has special memories for the family and to bring the boys there seemed perfect! We started out with a cloudy morning, but by the time we wrapped up the session, the clouds were breaking and the sun was beginning to shine…great timing as it was also getting a bit warmer.

Meet Matthew, he’s three years old and has the CUTEST smile and is so sweet! When we met, he was a bit reserved and wasn’t sure he wanted to smile, but once I pulled out some trucks, the ice was broken and he was my buddy for the session. We did our share of playing…with the trucks, bubbles and the sidewalk chalk! His favorite color is green and he LOVES dinosaurs…he knows a lot about them, I wish we’d had more time so he could tell me more about why he loves them! Maybe next time!!

Cameron, nearly 10 months old, is a very happy little guy! Full of smiles, lots of drooling (you can see his teeth and the new ones on the way!), and loves exploring. Keeping him still was our challenge although between his mom and myself, we found a few things that at least distracted him for a bit. Right from the start, he was happy…all the way through the session (other than during a diaper change as he couldn’t roam around!)…what a delightful little guy who kept his eyes on his brother and wanted to be where and do what he was doing…just watch out, Matthew, once Cameron is walking, you will have a shadow right behind you!!!

Matthew loved running (and jumping)…a fast little guy who just kept on going…oh, the energy of a three year old, if only we could bottle some of that!!!

Oh, the trucks, they were enjoyed by both boys…but then again, what boys don’t want to play with trucks!!

As you can see, Cameron wants to give bubble blowing a try…or maybe sucking the bubbles (uck!) from the wand…he sure had fun trying!!

Oh, Cameron’s eyes…love, love, love…he is going to have the girls following him as he gets older (as is his big brother!!).

Look at that smile…so darn sweet!

Cameron was nearly 10 months old during the session, so his mom had the perfect shirt…jersey…for him to wear…#10, for Jake Locker!!

These photos say it all…they sure love and adore one another…SO darn cute, these brothers!!!!

And, it was time to leave…at least for Cameron!!

I had a blast with these boys and am looking forward to seeing them again in December for some family photos…I can only imagine how much they will grow and change…I do know that I’ll be busy running after both the boys as I’m sure Cameron will be following Matthew by then!!

Rachel – Such Confidence | {Bellarmine Prep 2013 Senior}

A beautiful summer morning just a week ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing a remarkable young woman. Only haven spoken on the phone with Rachel, I had not met her, but once I saw her climb out of her (big) truck…I knew this was someone that would be fun and that the time would pass by quickly during her session. Not only is Rachel a beautiful young woman, she just gushes with confidence and direction…this gal is goal driven and knows what she wants out of life and what she needs to do to get there! I was SO impressed and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her during her session. The oldest of four…and the only girl, she’s responsible, mature and caring. Helping with her younger brothers who are all nearly as active as she is…and keeping up with her school, activities and a job…that’s impressive, especially for a high school senior! Volleyball is her passion and she was to start the tryouts and practices this past week…she was ready to go and knew that she’d be busy, but seemed excited about it all. If I could have met her parents, I certainly would have complimented them on what a lovely daughter they have…who seems quite exceptional for someone her age! With goals like being a pediatrician someday and heading off to college next fall…across the country…those are things to be praised and her parents have obviously done an exceptional job in raising her! Kudos to them…and to you, Rachel!!

Such a beautiful and natural smile…

We had a bright day, no clouds and although it was comfortable to start, it did warm up with time, but Rachel never complained and just kept her great attitude and smile through the whole session!
Rachel, you were a delight to photograph and I thoroughly enjoyed your session. I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the photos…you were such a great subject and made my job easy with your relaxed and natural personality! Good luck with volleyball!!!

Kat ROCKS | {Ferris HS 2013 Senior}

My oh my, what a beautiful young woman Kat Stark has grown into! Her family has been a LONG time family friend of my family…and actually it goes back to my grandmother and Kat’s great-grandmother who were friends…that’s a lot of history! And, to see Kat preparing for her senior year of high school is such a treat! Not only is she beautiful (okay, gorgeous!!), but she’s extremely mature, very bright, thoughtful and a joy to be around. When asked to do her senior photos, I was privileged to be able to capture some special memories for her and her family…that will last a lifetime. I wonder what our grandmothers would have thought to see the connection between the families continuing – one would imagine they’d love that we are all still so close and that they’d be impressed by just how well-rounded Kat is!! Given that I live on the west side of the mountains and Kat lives in Spokane, we were trying to figure out the location and time for her photos, when at the almost the last minute, things fell into place when I was visiting my mom in northern Idaho last week. A hot morning with tons of sunshine was what we were given and we started out down the road, with several stops before we ended her session. Fields, alleys in Coeur d’Alene, a stop for lunch, a lake road and then some time by the water rounded out the session – with each location being unique and making for a great variety of photos for Kat to choose from! What does the future hold for Kat…well, first off, she’ll finish her high school career at Ferris High School in Spokane (where I also graduated from, as did her mom!), she’s a volleyball player and that will keep her busy through a good part of the year and of course, all the fun (and not so fun) senior activities and requirements for graduation. In her spare time, besides hanging out with friends, she enjoys longboarding…this gal sure loves to be active!! After that, she’s looking at moving to Seattle to further her education and knowing her, the possibilities are endless and whatever she chooses, I know she’ll succeed – oh, how fun it will be to see where she is in 5 years, I can’t wait!!

Laughter was a big part of this session…actually, I think we had to work to get some serious photos since we were laughing so much!

I loved that we were able to shoot around the lake road, since both Kat and I have such a connection to the lake (Hayden).

Okay, I must give a bit of insight on this photo on the right…as I was shooting Kat, my cousin was standing behind me and she “flashed” Kat, but what Kat didn’t realize was that my cousin had her swimsuit on under her shirt! LOVE that I captured this, only wish I had another camera to capture what was happening behind me as well!!

Did I not say GORGEOUS…she’s such a beautiful person, inside and out and was so natural and relaxed…I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her!

Since Kat just got a new bike that we had to include in the session…if only she had another and we could have gone for a ride afterwards!

One of Kat’s passions is sailing and although we never made it to the boats, we did find this mural in Coeur d’Alene, so we could include a bit of sailing in the session!I must say this is one of my favorites from the session…WOW!

Lunch break was at Hudson’s in Cd’A…and if you are at all familiar with the area, then you know about Hudsons! It’s a LONG standing burger (only burgers and pie!!) place on Sherman Ave. and it’s always busy…and always good! Check it out, if you’ve never been there, you won’t be sorry!

Another of my favorites…as I said, such a natural and down to earth individual, who’s comfortable wherever she is!Her sister, Hanna, popped in at the end (while by the water) for a couple of quick shots…another beauty, who in a few years will get her turn on the blog!!

Water is another big part of Kat’s life and after we were all finished…it was time to get our suits on and head to the dock and lake to cool off!Kat…thank you for being SO much fun to photograph and so easy to work with…I had a blast during your session and hope you enjoy these photos…more to come when your gallery is ready! There is no doubt in my mind that you will achieve all your heart desires…and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you in the years ahead….GO for it…dream and achieve all you can!!!

Sweet Logan is here! | {Puyallup Newborn Photographer}

If you haven’t figured out in the past few months just how much I enjoy babies…then maybe you haven’t see all my posts on BABIES!! And, here is another one…just as sweet and adorable as all of the others…oh, boy (boy, this time!)…do I ever love my job, especially when I get the little ones! This little guy was just a week old the day he came to visit me (with his family in tow!) for his session! Logan Michael Swift arrived on July 24th and was welcome by mom, dad and big sister, Abigail! Of course, you’ve seen Abigail here before, she’s had her own “staring role” here, but this time, little brother gets the headline!! This family is special to myself and my family…we met dad (aka Michael) when he was about 4 years old in Tennessee and have been GREAT friends with his family ever since. We’ve been through such great times in their lives and this is another highlight that has been wonderful to share with them! I had the pleasure of meeting Logan the night he was born and capturing a few photos for them to share with their families…who live in Tennessee.

Little Logan is precious and so sweet to cuddle…and loved EVER so much by his parents and big sister. A new life for this family and such a blessing to them, a beautiful and healthy baby boy has now joined this happy family…to add even more happiness and joy to their lives!

I think I might even see a smile on Logan’s face…he’s obviously quite happy to have joined his parents!OH, how I love when parents cuddle their new babies…there isn’t a sweet sight…it’s so tender and heartwarming!Love this little face…so innocent! A side note…near the end of Logan’s session, he lost his umbilical cord…glad we got some photos with it in!!Bottom to top…literally…the cutest little bum…and SO much hair!!!
Abigail now has to share her mom and dad, but I think she will LOVE sharing with Logan…she’s so excited to be a big sister!!
See what I mean…a ton of hair…oh, how jealous the little girls with hardly any hair will be!!A very special visitor came out to meet Logan…his Nana, who is a dear friend of mine and I couldn’t let her leave without a few photos of her with her grandbabies!!I wonder what he’s thinking…..Little toes…I’m a sucker for the “little bits” of babies!!!One of my favorites…such a tender moment.Welcome Logan…I look forward to capturing some more memories as you grow!

Congratulations Michael and Allison on your very handsome little boy, he’s a cute as can be and I am so happy for all of you! Enjoy and cherish each and every moment…for they grow up far to quickly!!
