Baby Michael {Puyallup Newborn Photographer}

On a wet and dark afternoon earlier this week, I had a wonderful session with a beautiful little one that certainly made me forget about the dreary weather! Baby Michael is just three weeks old and it was a pleasure to meet him after I had taken his mom’s maternity photos earlier this spring. Michael started out awake, but we were able to quickly “lure” him asleep and he did great through the whole session. It truly is amazing just how strong such a little one will be. He was picking up his head and moving it wherever HE wanted it…a very determined little one who I can see already will be a strong and confident individual. Here’s a preview of our session…he was sooo good…I just love newborns!!
Aren’t baby toes and feet the cutest thing ever!

More with Kelli… {Tacoma Portrait Photographer}

On Saturday when I met up with Kelli and her mom in Seattle, Kelli was disappointed that there wasn’t any graffiti around the area (there had been a wall, but it’s since been painted over)…so I mentioned that there was some great graffiti in Tacoma, if she was willing to come down that way? She didn’t hesitate a bit and said WHEN can I come! We arranged for yesterday (Tuesday) morning to meet up and take some more photos…and this time she brought along her sister, Lindsay. Perfect…a sister to help out, suggest some things and also to include in the photos! These girls were so much fun… we laughed a lot and it was obvious, that despite probably not always liking one another…they are great friends…so refreshing to see this!! And, we were quite lucky with the weather…it was overcast, but bright and no rain…although by the time I got home, it was pouring…someone was looking out for us!
So, here are some more of Kelli’s photos…as well as Lindsay…good luck to Kelli in figuring out what you want…it’s going to be tough!
Kelli is currently enrolled in Running Start with plans to become a nurse in the future…what a great goal…I see a bright future for her!

Kelli and Seattle…what a GREAT morning…perfect combination!

The time is near…the end of high school and on to a new chapter in her life…Kelli is about to embark on an exciting time of her life…college and the future! She’s a beautiful young woman who was fun and sweet during our session on Saturday morning. We met at Seattle Center and it couldn’t have been a nicer morning…talk about a perfect late spring day…that was certainly a sign that this would be a great session. Kelli and her mom were a delight during the session…and getting to know a bright young “soon to be graduate” was one of the highlights of my morning! Of course, spending a couple of hours in Seattle Center was a joy as well…I just love that place, so much to see, so many places to photograph…how could one not enjoy their time there?!? Here are some previews from the session…enjoy and for Kelli-know that more are to come soon….

Wow…those eye are amazing…how can one resist such beauty! Along with those beautiful eyes…she has a great spirit about her that is definitely a sign of character!
I love people who are up to a challenge or should I say someone with a bit of adventure in them…well, Kelli is just one of those people…when I saw this bright ORANGE graphic on the ground…with what Kelly was wearing…how could I resist asking if she’d get be willing to stand in it…but as you can see, there was a sign that sort of suggested we might not want to go inside of the yellow caution tape…but Kelli was up for it…and don’t worry, I checked, it was dry…so no worries, there aren’t any orange flip flop prints around Seattle Center…at least from us!!
With a smile like this…how can one not enjoy a session with a beautiful senior!

Beautiful Brylee…

Friday afternoon I had the pleasure of visiting baby Brylee again (see newborn posting http://blog.terribeloitphotography.com/2010/01/beautiful-blessing.html) who is not quite four months old. Wow, it’s so exciting to see the changes…she’s doubled her weight and is as beautiful and precious as she was when I first met her. This day it was just Brylee and her mom…dad was working and her (four-legged) brother was outside…although he wasn’t very happy with that…he would have really liked to be a part of this session, I’m sure! It was so much fun to see what she was doing now and the smiles just light up her face…and when we got a really big smile, her dimples would show…with babies, it doesn’t get much better than that. I’ve been blessed with some little ones this week for sessions and I must say, it’s the BEST…nothing is better.

Today is Mother’s Day and it’s Brylee’s mom’s, Jessica, first mother’s day so I really wanted to get this posting ready for her on this special day…the first of many she will have. It also has another special significance as Brylee will be dedicated at their church today…what an incredible gift to her mom (and we can’t forget dad!)…to have this take place on her first mother’s day! So, Happy Mother’s Day, Jessica…enjoy the photos and there will be more to come!

As you can see, modeling for a little one is tough work…we wore poor little Bylee out and she fell soundly asleep in her mother’s arms…this is one of those priceless moments!
I can’t wait to return in a few months to see how Brylee has grown even more…and between now and then, I’m sure her parents will enjoy each and every little moment with her!

Miss Abby turns one…

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of photographing Abby who recently turned one! She is a beautiful little girl with the sweetest smile. I will say that she made me work for these photos…she wasn’t her usual happy self as she’s working on cutting several teeth and who can blame her…I sure wouldn’t be happy if I had a bunch of teeth breaking through my gums…I don’t even like a cleaning at the dentist…so she’s go my sympathy! Once she did cheer up and smile…she had me…I just melt when little ones give you a beautiful and natural smile…it’s the best! So, here are some previews of our session…and thanks to her mom, Kristin and her aunt, Kerry…we had a successful session!

San Diego Wedding…Jones ~ Wheeler

Back home again and it’s great to be back, I sure missed home, my husband, our dog and of course, my granddaughter! California was wonderful…not quite as warm as I would have hoped for, but you won’t hear me complaining, I still enjoyed my time there and especially having the opportunity to meet and get to know Kamie and John. The family session (previous post) was perfect to get acquainted before the wedding, even if the weather wasn’t quite what we would have wanted.
The wedding was beautiful and I don’t think they could have had a better day that week…the weather was ideal…comfortable temperature, no wind, no fog and best of all, no rain…just about perfect! Of course, it wouldn’t have mattered to John and Kamie what the weather was, because at the end of the day they became “Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler!”
I was honored to be asked to photography their special day and it was my pleasure to meet their family and friends…who were all so kind and a pleasure to visit with. I must say that a couple of people stand out from that evening…Cash, who was the ring bearer…he was a character…such personality and I was impressed that at his young age, he didn’t think twice about walking down the aisle…he was great! Another individual would be Cash’s mom, Brandi, who was VERY pregnant (and had been in the hospital with contractions the day before!)…and she did it all and on the dance floor, WOW…I give her the award for the most time on the dance floor!! Kamie sent me a note today and said that Brandi is still waiting for the newest family member to arrive…but that it will be any day…I must say, I truly expected her to deliver that night after all she did that day! Brandi gave a very touching speech/toast to Kamie and John…it is obvious that they have been great friends and have been there for each other through thick and thin! And, the best man, Dan, also gave a heartfelt toast and wished both Kamie and John the best for years to come.
Here’s a sample of some of the events that wonderful evening at Tom Hams Lighthouse on Shelter Island in San Diego…great couple, family, friends and beautiful location…
CONGRATULATIONS JOHN and KAMIE

I also would like to thank my brother, Scott Hege, for being such a great assistant…I couldn’t have done half the job without him! It was the first wedding he’d “worked” at and although he said it was a bit nerve wracking at times, he said it was a blast and he also enjoyed meeting everyone!

Ahhh…a beach session ~ San Diego, CA

Greetings from sunny southern California! It’s been really nice since I’ve arrived and even the cooler (and one wet) days are still wonderful! I do love the sunshine and am crossing my fingers that by the time I arrive back home, there’s more sun and warmer temperatures!
It’s been a fun visit so far…time with my mom, my sisters and brother were here over the weekend and we had a great time together…family is so important and I’m glad we made the time to spend together. My brother and I will drive back with my mom to her home in Spokane at the end of the week.
So, a little work thrown in with some vacation time…and that’s just a perfect mix! Sunday afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting Kamie and John, whose wedding I’ll be photographing this coming Saturday. Kamie’s family joined us and we had a fun family session…despite a bit of wind and cooler than it had been, but still great. My brother joined me…as he’ll be my assistant at the wedding and it was a fun way to get acquainted with Kamie, John and her family…all wonderful people and I look forward to Saturday and sharing in their big day!
Here are some shots from that afternoon…
RIGHT after this shot, the water rushed up, and they all had to quickly scramble to get out of the way…we thought we were in a “safe zone” but the surf had other ideas!!
The girls…Kamie, Christy, Kara and Halee…
Dad and Mom…Dennis and Jodi…with the crew all behind them…goofing around!
Josh, the only boy with three sisters…and his wife Christy
The guys…John, Dennis and Josh…they were all so serious…come on guys you have to lighten up and give me some smiles for the wedding this weekend!! :~)
John and Kamie…a walk on the beach…soon, they’ll be “Mr. and Mrs.” and walking off into wedded bliss!
Thank you, Kamie and John for asking me to share in such a special time in your lives! I look forward to Saturday…I’ll see you then!
