Mr. & Mrs. Kalebaugh | Oregon Wedding Photographer

Just four short weeks ago, this beautiful, young couple was joined by family and dear friends as they shared a special day of committing to each other…for a lifetime! Sydney and Tobin became husband and wife and I don’t think I’ve seen a couple that has wanted that more, that were more committed and excited to join together as one! Of course, I must admit, I’m a tad biased as Sydney is my niece, my brother’s youngest and I was so excited to be able to share in this very special day with all of them! They were married on a hot day in The Dalles, OR, but it certainly could have been hotter and there wasn’t much wind (which can be a problem there), and there weren’t any fires (they came two weeks later)…so it was obviously a very blessed day for them to have such great conditions and to have so many people be able to share in their amazing day! Sydney is a bit social, well okay, a LOT and makes friends with just about everyone she meets…hence, 12 bridesmaids! 😉 Although the largest wedding party I’ve ever photographed, it was probably the most fun group, they were laughing and giggling most of the time and the whole group was willing to do just about anything…I had such a great time with this wedding party and love going through all of the photos – it really was a blast! Sydney and Tobin are now settling into married life in Moscow as Sydney returns to finish her last year of college and Tobin applies to Vet school…and I know that life ahead of them has great things in store…there will be bumps and turns they might not expect and challenges, but that is what commitment is all about, learning how to navigate these things together, working to grow your relationship and make it ever stronger! I’m so excited to see where they will be in just 5 short years…and can only imagine the stories they will have to share from their adventures together! (WARNING: there are a LOT of photos here…I just had too many I wanted to share. so you are warned to settle down and get comfortable while you go through these!!)

Just Maui’d in Paradise…

This past Tuesday, I (along with my wonderful assistant…my husband!) had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Danielle Vesey and Garrett Wester…on the most beautiful island of Maui. How much better could it get? Other than the fact that it was a rather hot afternoon and slightly humid (I know you’re not feeling sorry for us!)…it was just perfect! It’s been over two years since Danielle chose Secret Beach/McKenna Beach as the location and it couldn’t have been a better choice! It’s a public, but secluded beach with some amazing rocks, wonderful fine sand and some great palm trees surrounding it…as I said…beautiful! There was a large group of family and friends that came to share in this special day with Danielle and Garrett…a testament to how much they are loved by one another and those who attended! Here are some photos from the day…

Thank you Danielle and Garrett for asking us to share such a special day with you two…it was our pleasure and we wish you years and years of happiness ahead!

Since we made the trip to this beautiful island, my husband and I decided we needed to make a vacation of it…so we are here for another week…enjoying EVERY minute of it (sorry for those of you who are in the cooler and damp fall weather!)…and will do our best to relax as best we can!! LOL

November is going to be a busy month…lots of sessions already booked as well as the reception for Danielle and Garrett just after we return home! Loving every minute here, but am excited to get home, work up the photos from the past two weddings and for my sessions with my families and seniors…looking forward to every one of them!

Here’s a sunset shot from a walk on the beach the other night…

Fall Wedding in New York…

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in Batavia, New York. Batavia is located in Western New York, between Buffalo and Rochester. I arrived on Thursday evening and had the pleasure of seeing a bit of the surrounding community on Friday…and just loved it. The countryside was beautiful and the fall colors were early, but splendid…I knew right away that I wanted to return again someday when I had more time to explore the area.

Jessica Palmer and Shawn McAlister were the bride and groom and what a delightful couple. Their hopes were to take some photos outside before the wedding at a local park…but that was all dependent on the weather…and on Friday it was grey and drizzly…and Saturday started out damp, but by the time we had planned to head to the park, it was dry, sunny with clouds and just about perfect! What a great sign for their life together…of good things for them in their future!

We had fun at the park…their dog joined them for some photos and Jessica’s dad brought his Harley there as well…what fun we had! The wedding was in the evening and although quick – it was just perfect…and what fun the reception was…a great group of people…such nice families and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and having the opportunity to share this special day with Jessica and Shawn! They are now enjoying some time as “Mr. and Mrs.” in Cancun and I look forward to sharing all of the photos from their special day with them soon!

In the middle of the brides bouquet is a flower from her great-grandmothers memorial service…a wonderful reminder how special grandmothers are and a way to keep her there for such a special day!

Haley and Alex were adorable as the flower girl and ring bearer…and did a great job, besides looking adorable!

Look what the groom found when he went to get the garter…quite a surprise…to the bride…who was a GREAT sport with this! It certainly added some exitement to the wedding…and later in the evening…it added a bit more spice and laughter!!

This cute little girl was really “swinging” it up on the dance floor…and was so much fun to watch…if she didn’t sleep well that night, I don’t know what would wear her out!

Congratulations Jessica and Shawn…here’s to MANY, MANY years together!

I’m heading out of town again this weekend, another wedding next week…this time in Maui, so keep your eyes peeled for a preview from that in the days following!
