Eric…Exceptional | {Puyallup Senior Photographer}

There are times when you meet someone and you quickly know that this is a GREAT person…that this individual is going to go places, do amazing things with their life and contribute to society! Eric Ols0n is one of those people and I had the good fortune to do his senior photos earlier this month. He’s a senior at Puyallup HS and works two jobs, so trying to find the time and having the weather cooperate for his session was certainly a challenge…I’m SO glad it all worked out!! His good friend, Jordan, had recommended me…she was highlighted last fall and is also one of those REALLY great young people who just HAVE it…if you know what I mean! Our session started a bit late as Jordan and Eric were delayed a tad…and the reason why is an example of what great young people they are. While on the way to meet us, some motorcyclists were “hot rodding” in front of them and then wham…they (the motorcycles) crashed and I’m not certain of the exact details, but I believe went over the embankment on the highway…Jordan (driving) stopped immediately and Eric flew out of the car and ran to check on the cyclists…knowing CPR, he thought he might be able to help them out. Now, I’m not so sure I would be as helpful given that these two motorcyclists were sort of “asking for it” – but these two knew they needed help and stopped. I believe there weren’t any serious injuries…but you can see just the kind of people that Eric and Jordan are!!  So, we finally met up and had a great afternoon…lots of laughs and many inside jokes between Jordan and Eric which really helped to relax Eric since he was the center of attention and wasn’t quite sure what to do at first! It didn’t take long before he was at ease and handled it like a pro!!

What a great smile Eric has…but I also loved his more serious expressions…I’m not sure which I liked better…I guess I like them all!!I have many “favorites” from Eric’s session and this is one of them…love his expression and you can see dreams and plans in his eyes…

Couldn’t resist this wall (again)…Jordan was here last fall and it’s a belief that these two have…”DON’T HATE!”You might have noticed the “WASHINGTON” shirt and recognize the location as UW Tacoma…Eric had just recently made the decision to attend UW (Seattle) and is really excited about college…business is his intended major and he has BIG plans for his career and I have no doubts that he will be incredibly successful…this kid has ambition and goals and works to achieve them…I hope to keep in touch and hear what he’s doing in four years…it will be great things, I’m sure!!

We had some fun with Jordan and Eric…lots of goofy photos and silly faces…which is always fun…for me and them…there weren’t many serious moments during the session with these two!!As with most people these days…our phones are right there with us…couldn’t resist capturing Eric on his phone…who knows, someday he might be consulting with some big businesses about very important issues on his phone!!

What a delight it was to spend some time with Eric (and Jordan)…I wish his great success in college and life!!!

Baby Joe and family | {Puyallup Newborn Photographer}

Welcome to the newest member of the Jacobson family…little Joe who joined them just four weeks ago…he was three weeks old when I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable little guy! His big sister, Indy, has starred on the blog a few times in the past year and while she loves her little brother…she wasn’t as excited about the photos as her parents were. We did manage to grab a few family photos (with bribery…smarties, my secret weapon!) of all of them and even a couple of Indy, alone, before she left with her aunt (thank you, Jenny!!)…to go swimming. Little Joe was not so little, at least compared to my new granddaughter who is just a week younger (but was premature)…so holding this baby was a bit different, but nonetheless…so sweet and precious. Babies are truly gifts and miracles and to be cherished by all who are blessed with them…and I know this family is thrilled to welcome their new son and add to their already wonderful family!  Joe started out asleep, but soon was awake, wide awake and for a while I wondered if we would get any sleeping photos…it took time and patience, but in the end, we were successful and he was REALLY out for the last part of our session. I love his sweet lips and those chubby cheeks…he was wonderful and I could have cuddled and cradled him for hours that day, but alas, I knew his parents had plans for the afternoon, so I had to say goodbye, but oh, what a wonderful morning I had with this sweet baby and his parents!!

Isn’t Indy even cuter than when she was last year! Such a beauty…and very sweet!

This is so sweet, new siblings, together and I love how Indy is cradling Joe’s head…and look at Joe…already sticking his tongue out at his sister!

Yes, Mom, it really did happen…that is what I imagine Joe is saying to his mom here…ahh, the stories he will have to tell her over a lifetime…such wonderful things are ahead for all of them!

Dad is truly in awe of his new son…so gentle and caring…a dad of two now, who I can see will have great times with both of his little ones…

Sleeping…ahhh, finally…just the sweetest thing!

Congratulations Jason and Katie, on your beautiful new son…what a lovely family you have and so many wonderful memories are ahead for all of you…enjoy each and every day to the fullest!!

Olivia – Goal Driven | {Puyallup High School}

This lovely young woman was a delight to meet up on this sunny and DRY afternoon. I met Olivia and her mom…after a few “rescheduled” session times due to weather. As you know, around the Pacific Northwest, the weather is not predictable, so flexibility is key when scheduling sessions. I was so happy it finally worked out for Olivia session…and what a wonderful time I had with these two women! A senior at Puyallup High School who has great plans and goals for the future. She’s working now, preparing and saving for college, knowing that the hard work will all pay off in the long run. With plans to attend WSU (go COUGS!!) and enter into nursing, I really admire Olivia’s plans for her future. Nursing is a great gift to those who are in need of the nurses….this is such a wonderful aspiration!! And, her interest is in newborns and children and since I have a granddaughter who was born premature and know just how much the nurses part plays in the care of these little babies…I love that she has this passion!!

Can you say amazing smile…Olivia’s smile just beamed through the whole session…a soft smile was not easy for her and that’s because she has such a lovely and natural smile, it’s just part of who she is…I loved it!!!Okay, so we did get a nice soft smile and my oh, my…is she beautiful…wow!Despite some objections from mom, we grabbed her for a couple of photos at the very end, couldn’t resist…two beautiful women!!
