What a delight to see Kinsley as she celebrated her second birthday. It had been a year and oh, how much fun it is to see how these little ones grow and change over the time between sessions! And, how fortunate were we to have such a beautiful day to “play” outside for her session. Mom had a very cute little tank for her to wear with a sparkly tutu and it was obvious that Kinsley is quite happy to be all GIRL! Of course, she is also two and she also enjoyed exploring and really enjoyed the bubbles which were a great prop/bribe during the session. The smiles and sweetness just oozed from this adorable little girl during the entire session…I think she could have gone on longer…she seemed to be having as much fun as I was…such a cutie…as you can see!
Here I go again…another very personal post…and since it’s Mother’s Day…I figure that I have the right to share with you a LOT of photos from a very special day in our family’s life! Last Saturday we finally had the baby shower for our daughter…which had been postponed as it was scheduled for just two days after she delivered her daughter, 5 weeks early! Of course, no one expects a baby to arrive early and this little gift was no different…family and friends were surprised and concerned, worried and hopeful about Jessalyn who was soon to bring her daughter, Emma, into the world, not as planned, but it was going to happen and there wasn’t anything that could be done, but to hope and pray that all would be fine! And, it is…Emma was in the hospital for three weeks before coming home with her parents, Jessalyn and Sean, and now she’s six weeks old and doing wonderfully! Both of our families are so thankful that all is well and this shower was a great opportunity to celebrate this beautiful little girl!! Family and friends gathered and we welcomed Emma’s attendance, which wouldn’t have been the case if she’d been born on schedule. Naturally, everyone was excited to see/meet Emma and get a chance to hold this sweet little girl. We enjoyed some wonderful snacks, DELICIOUS cupcakes by Angel Cakes, we made some adorable headbands, hats and hair clips to adorn Emma’s tiny head, played a few games and shared in the excitement of the thoughtful, useful and cute gifts she received. Thanks to the incredible friends, Danielle, Jenny and Allison who helped with all the details, this shower was a huge success…it wasn’t quite as we had originally planned, but it was perfect in the end!! Thank you to ALL who shared in our celebration…we are so blessed with wonderful people in our lives to share such a joyous time!
Mother’s Day…a day when we recognize those someone who has been probably one of the most influential people in our lives…someone who has loved us unconditionally and stood by us, through thick and thin, picked us up when we’ve been at our lowest and lifted us up without batting an eye…I can’t imagine life without my mom…she’s has been an AMAZING role model for me…she’s strong, confident, hard working, loving, caring, thoughtful and oh, so much more…I could go on and on…and I don’t think I could ever thank her enough for all she has given me in my years…which have helped to create the person I am and the mother I am to my son and daughter. As I think about my daughter, my baby…now being a mother herself, it brings tears to my eyes, I’m so happy for her and her husband, they are and will be INCREDIBLE parents…they are so blessed and I’m so happy for for them…it’s an amazing thing to see life continue, families continue to grow – and to know that our sweet granddaughter, Emma, has a very special life ahead of her…with a mother and father that love her unconditionally and that whatever she wants in life…she can achieve…you go Emma…and to our beautiful daughter, Happy Mother’s Day, Jess…LOVE you!!!!
My oh my…sharing an afternoon with Tinker Bell and a lovely little three year old…it certainly doesn’t get much better than that! Sweet Abby turned three last month and low and behold, but who should appear at her birthday, but her favorite Disney character…Tinker Bell! The guests, fairies, princesses, pirates and even a few “humans” were excited and loved sharing their time with this beautiful fairy who is close friends with Peter Pan (as well as Cinderella!!). Lots of wonderful snacks and treats, delicious cupcakes, Pixie dust, face painting, balloon creations, SUPER fun gifts and LOTS of smiles filled the afternoon and I do believe that this celebration was one that will be remembered by many…even those who are young at heart…Tinker Bell was a delight and so wonderful with the little guests…and very excited to share in seeing all of the fun (many Tinker Bell) gifts that Abby received! One very precious story I just have to share with you all…one of the guests, and a cousin of the guest of honor, asked Tinker Bell how come she was so big…she said she thought she was much smaller. Tinker Bell told her that she had special powers to be “big” for special occasions and that as soon as the party was over, she would return to her usual size…oh, out of the mouths of babes….LOVE IT!!! Now, it’s time for you to take a few minutes, step back in time and remember those wonderful childhood memories as you browse through the photos from this magical birthday celebration!!
Tinker Bell gave Abby a very special little wand that she had to wave over Tinker Bell so that she would soon return to her normal (small) size and be able to fly back to Never Never Land…poor Abby didn’t want her to leave and was reluctant to wave the want…so big sister, Lily, helped out a bit!The kids were very sad to see Tinker Bell leave…they watched her for as far as they could see her…until she disappeared and became too small for them to see…truly a priceless moment!!So very sad that her special new friend had to leave!!
Sweet Abby…many wishes for years and years of magical memories and a lifetime of believing that anything is possible!!
