Last weekend, during our visit to Oregon, I had the privilege of taking senior pictures for a very lovely young woman. Laura, a senior at The Dalles-Wahtonka High School, is a beautiful person…inside and out! I had met her once before, a couple years ago while visiting their farm with our granddaughter. Laura was so kind and generous with her time that first visit…she took us around their farm to show us all the animal and she even climbed into the pen with the pigs to get one of the babies….so we could hear it squeal…and SQUEAL, it did! I was very impressed with her back then…and even more so during her session. She was easy to photograph and a natural in front of the camera…here are just a few of the images from that afternoon!
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting two beautiful little sisters. The oldest is Giselle and she is just 15 months old and her new baby sister, Stella, is about 3 weeks old. These little ones were so sweet and even if a tad tired, they were a delight to photograph! With such little ones, you can’t always plan the session…they do THEIR thing, which is just fine with me…because, it truly is all about THEM! Here’s a couple “peeks” from the session…and in a few days their gallery will be up for their family to check out…ENJOY!
This past weekend my husband and I headed south for The Dalles, OR, where my brother and his family live. We took our granddaughter with us as at my brother’s place, there are six new “kids” – aka, baby goats and we knew she’d LOVE seeing them!
With the amazing weather we’ve had around here lately, the drive down was great, clear and we could see all the mountains as we headed down I-5 and then east on I-84…what a glorious drive. We quickly checked into our motel before heading to the local high school to catch my niece, Sydney, play basketball. This was the first opportunity we’ve had to watch her and WOW…did the team put on a great show…they took it to TRIPLE OT and in the end, WON!! How exciting and as you can imagine…I photographed the game as well…what fun that was!
Saturday morning we headed to my brother’s place and the first thing we did…check out the kids…oh, they are SO darn cute…and yes, Jayden fell in love with them! And, she even got to help with the feeding of a couple of them whose moms won’t feed them…and she thought that was great. Her favorite…a little boy named, Sambo…who she was often trying to carry around (poor little guy…he was probably happy when we left on Sunday…LOL)…it was very sweet! That afternoon we enjoyed a nice hike and had a great meal while watching the Olympics that evening. We stayed at my brother’s place that night and the next morning my husband, brother and myself got up for sunrise over the Columbia River…it was clear and beautiful….and a tad chilly (23 degrees!)…but oh, so worth it! THANKS, Scott for suggesting that!
After breakfast and another goat feeding, we headed to some friends’ of their who have a farm with even more goats, pigs, puppies, geese, cats and more…and wow, did Jayden ever enjoy that! Then, time to head back home…after a glorious weekend…what a fun time and great memories…oh, and a few (hahaha!) photos as well!
On each end of the weekend, I had a session…Friday before we left, I had the pleasure of photographing two darling little sisters in the studio and then while at the farm in The Dalles, I took senior photos for a beautiful gal who was a delight to photograph. That made the weekend just perfect…can’t get any better! So, look for those blogs in the next couple of days.
The rain has returned here at home…and as much as I LOVE the sunshine, I know we need the rain…and it beats snow…since we have flowers starting to bloom and I’ve seen cherry blossom trees also beginning to bloom…it’s crazy that it’s still February….but I won’t complain!
