Mr. and Mrs. Dahlstrom…married! {Renton Wedding Photographer}

This couple is GREAT together…and their wedding was wonderful and to be a part of such a great day was our (my husband and myself) pleasure. We started out early and went late into the evening…and I must say that we were exhuasted by the end of the night, but also excited at what we were able to capture for Megan and Derek on their special day!! And, the weather really couldn’t have been better…it wasn’t too warm or too cool…and ideal for the outdoor wedding and reception…this had to be a sign of a great future for them…everything falling into place! The wedding took place at Snoqualmie Point Park (GREAT location…check it out sometime, beautiful view!!) and the reception was help at in the groom’s back yard which backs up to Shady Lake in Renton…and that was a fabulous location!! Couldn’t have been a better day!

The groom and his best man (brother)…hmmm, they look a bit different in later photos, wonder why?!! TOO much fun for these guys!

My husband was photographing the guys getting ready…needless to say they ALL had a good time…as you can see!!

Jill, who is the groom’s mom was a wonderful hostess…and when she was opening the champagne…she said it should sound just like a woman’s sigh…but this bottle had something else in store and came bubbling out everywhere…we all enjoyed the “woman’s sigh!!”

All the little details for the bride…such fun to make sure it’s all taken care of…and all SO worth it when you see how beautiful she is!!!

Both the bride and groom getting some reassurance and last minute advice from their parents…great to see such wonderful support from family!

This location was GORGEOUS…and the weather couldn’t have been nicer…perfect temperature!

Look at this GREAT looking wedding party…aren’t they fabulous!

The wedding party and guests…such a fun group!!!!

Guess it’s important that they make it official!!  And, the father’s of the bride and groom were the witnesses…that’s such a special honor!!

Dancing…a lot of fun was had on the dance floor…though I’m not sure Gunnar (the dog) knew what was going on in his back yard!!

The cake…they both made sure the other got their fair share!!!  Needless to say, a bit of clean-up was necessary after this shot!

A few moments together…to reflect on the day…THEIR day!!

Saturday Wedding

What a great day it was yesterday…my husband and I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Derek and Megan and despite it being a long day, it was perfect…and of course, there are tons of photos I’d love to share, I just need some time, so for now, you’ll have to be happy with just this one photo to tide you over…

San Diego Wedding…Jones ~ Wheeler

Back home again and it’s great to be back, I sure missed home, my husband, our dog and of course, my granddaughter! California was wonderful…not quite as warm as I would have hoped for, but you won’t hear me complaining, I still enjoyed my time there and especially having the opportunity to meet and get to know Kamie and John. The family session (previous post) was perfect to get acquainted before the wedding, even if the weather wasn’t quite what we would have wanted.
The wedding was beautiful and I don’t think they could have had a better day that week…the weather was ideal…comfortable temperature, no wind, no fog and best of all, no rain…just about perfect! Of course, it wouldn’t have mattered to John and Kamie what the weather was, because at the end of the day they became “Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler!”
I was honored to be asked to photography their special day and it was my pleasure to meet their family and friends…who were all so kind and a pleasure to visit with. I must say that a couple of people stand out from that evening…Cash, who was the ring bearer…he was a character…such personality and I was impressed that at his young age, he didn’t think twice about walking down the aisle…he was great! Another individual would be Cash’s mom, Brandi, who was VERY pregnant (and had been in the hospital with contractions the day before!)…and she did it all and on the dance floor, WOW…I give her the award for the most time on the dance floor!! Kamie sent me a note today and said that Brandi is still waiting for the newest family member to arrive…but that it will be any day…I must say, I truly expected her to deliver that night after all she did that day! Brandi gave a very touching speech/toast to Kamie and John…it is obvious that they have been great friends and have been there for each other through thick and thin! And, the best man, Dan, also gave a heartfelt toast and wished both Kamie and John the best for years to come.
Here’s a sample of some of the events that wonderful evening at Tom Hams Lighthouse on Shelter Island in San Diego…great couple, family, friends and beautiful location…
CONGRATULATIONS JOHN and KAMIE

I also would like to thank my brother, Scott Hege, for being such a great assistant…I couldn’t have done half the job without him! It was the first wedding he’d “worked” at and although he said it was a bit nerve wracking at times, he said it was a blast and he also enjoyed meeting everyone!
