Kinsley turns “ONE” | {Busy & Beautiful}

undefinedWhat a treat it was to capture some special photos for Kinsley to commemorate her first birthday! This little sweetheart I met withing a couple weeks of her birth and it’s been wonderful to photograph and watch her grow throughout her first year! It was a bit of a surprise that she was walking…and not just walking…she’d been walking for a couple of months and was a BUSY little one who kept her mom and myself on our toes in trying to entertain her and keep her corralled in the studio! She wanted to explore…everything and anything! That is what I love about babies and toddlers…their desire and eagerness to learn about new things is NEVER ending and they are constantly searching for something new to touch, taste, smell and see just what it can do…if only we as adults were that eager to continually learn about new things…our brains would never go stagnant! Kinsley was very busy, but so sweet and I got many hugs from her and she even blew me a few kisses during the session…oh, how I LOVE the babies! I can’t wait to see this darling grown over the next year ahead…how blessed am I to meet these beautiful babies and be able to watch them as they grow into toddlers and children…and teens…oh, how I love my job!

undefinedWhat fun we had playing…Kinsley was into everything and I thoroughly enjoyed my session with her!undefinedundefinedIsn’t she just adorable…I love her eyes…they say it all!undefinedCurious and a flirt…she was priceless with this hat and knew she had her mom and I wrapped around her little finger!undefinedI must say, the tongue came out several times and it was so funny…she had been working on some new teeth, so I’m sure it was a whole new feeling to have some teeth to feel and play with!undefinedNow, don’t think that we were torturing her…this sad face was the only time she was unhappy…and that was because we kept moving her and she wanted to be where SHE wanted and not where we wanted her! I couldn’t resist capturing this! Love the close up…this was thanks to my mother in-law who was visiting and walked in at this time and Kinsley just quietly stared at all of us for a bit…so sweet!undefinedAnd, the cake smash…one of my favorite parts of the one year sessions…and isn’t this the cutest crown that here mom made…she was AWESOME with this part of the session!

Thank you, Laura and Ed, for allowing me the privilege of following Kinsley’s first year of her life, it’s been a pleasure and a joy…you have a beautiful daughter, who I hope to see more in the years to come!

Ainsley turns two | {Absolutely Adorable}

It was a delight to see Miss Ainsley again…and how she’s grown and turned into a sweet toddler. I first met her when she was 6 months old…and now, she’s a lively and fun two year old. She started out a tad shy and wanted her mom close by, but in no time at all, she warmed up and we started playing and having a good time. It didn’t hurt that I had a very special assistant with me that day…my 5 year old granddaughter, Jayden, who I think quickly became one of Ainsley’s good friends! It’s amazing what a 5 year old can do and how quickly a younger child will follow along…I think I need to tap into that source and learn the secrets! We had planned this session earlier, but had to reschedule and had hoped this day to get outside a bit, but the weather wasn’t cooperating…so we’ll get together for a mini session “someday” when the weather decides to be a bit more predictable and shoot some outside. Despite being in the studio, Ainsley was a pure delight and her smile and giggles just lit up the room…what a wonderful little girl that was a real joy to spend some time with! At the end of the session, Ainsley and Jayden disappeared while I talked with her parents…and they were found downstairs playing with the Barbies and blocks…and neither seemed to care if we came around or not…ahhh, the pure simplicity of children…it is the most magical thing there is!

undefined

As you can see, we had a lot of fun…and Ainsley is full of LOTS of great expressions…what a sweetheart!!!

undefined

LOVE, LOVE this smile!!!

undefined

Okay, I want to know where I can find boots like this…they are SO cute!!

undefined

Near the end of the session…I think Ainsley was getting tired…and wanted us to be quiet so she could rest!!

undefined

Little toes…one of my favorites!!!

undefined

What a beauty….undefinedundefined

As we headed outside at the end, I couldn’t resist grabbing a shot or two…of course, this was after the rain and torrential hail storm that took place during the session…spring, really??

Dave and Meghan…thank you for asking me to capture some special memories of your beautiful daughter…it was truly my pleasure and I must say, you have a very sweet little girl….I look forward to watching her grow and change over the years to come!

Baby Max | {Adored & Loved}

undefined What a treat it was to meet and photograph baby Max last Sunday morning. I must admit that I’d been waiting to meet him for quite some time…actually ever since his mom, Kerry, told me she was expecting last summer! We’d been talking and planning his newborn session all through her pregnancy! A little background about Kerry…I met she and her sister, Kristin, about two years ago at the Puyallup Farmer’s Market when I purchased an adorable tutu from them. A few weeks later, I returned to tell them how wonderful it was and offered to share some photos with them. From there…a business collaboration grew between all of us…and we became friends, which is actually, the best part of the deal. Not that I don’t LOVE what these gals do…they are quite talented and SO darn creative, but that aside, they are both such nice, kind, thoughtful and down to earth people who genuinely care about their families and friends…and those are just the kind of people I like to have as friends! So, back to Max…he arrived via c-section the Tuesday before and was just 5 days old…and was an angel during the entire session. Mom and dad warned me he didn’t like being naked, so thought it could be a challenge…well, between the heat (not sure, but it had to have been at least 80 degrees in the house) and the “white noise” he slept…and slept and slept! He did wake up twice to eat and at the end, was awake for the last few photos…but besides that, he was just perfect! Oh, so sweet and cuddly…I didn’t get too much time in holding him, but when I did, it was wonderful…there isn’t anything better than cuddling a newborn….ohhhh, it was wonderful! So, here we go…meet Max…just 5 days old!

undefined

Aren’t the ties he’s wearing the CUTEST…maybe by his “momma” and she has sold MANY of them…which is to be expected, so are a wonderful little accessory for boys…little and big alike!

undefinedundefinedundefined

Who can resist the tender moments with dad or the little bitty “parts of newborns…again, Max was SO good!!!

undefinedundefined

Big Sis, Maddy, LOVES her baby brother and was very gentle with him and just loves kissing him….I doubt this little guy will ever go long without kisses from someone in his family!!

undefined

This beautiful quilt with Max’s name on it…of course, it was made by his momma…another beautiful example of her talent….so jealous!!!

undefinedundefined

Okay, does Max not look like a little old man here…just SOOOO cute, these bow ties are priceless….as is he!!

undefined

undefined

Oh, how I love babies when they are sleeping…their sweet faces and endless expressions…I never tire of watching a baby sleep (okay, photographing them as well!).

undefined Kerry and Ed, what a beautiful baby boy you have and he’s a perfect addition to you family…I can only imagine how much love there is now with these sweet and healthy children you have…I look forward to photographing Max over the years ahead, along with precious Maddy!
