Back home again…

After a wonderful visit with my mom at Hayden Lake, I’m back home again and catching up on all the photos I have taken in the past few weeks. In addition to the Shultz wedding last month, I had some photos from a family session with our neighbors, Greg, Leah and Luke Borgerding…oh, and little Amelia, who hasn’t yet made her appearance, but it won’t be long till she’s here! What a GREAT family, we love them and are truly blessed to have them as neighbors. Here’s a photo from that session!

While in Idaho, I had the opportunity to do two shoots. The first was with a darling little girl, Jacqueline, who had just turned two. What a doll and so sweet! I had a blast…children are so free spirited and not worried about how they look or what they should do for the camera…that’s what I think I love about photographing kids! We spent quite a bit of time at a park in Hayden and her mom and grandma joined us…but I think it was Jacqueline and I that had the most fun!

The day after that, I drove to Priest Lake where my sister, Sarah, and her family have a place. Her daughter, Leah, is a senior this year, so I had the pleasure of taking her senior photos. Leah is an absolutely beautiful girl and was SO easy to photograph…when you have subjects that pretty and comfortable in front of the camera, it makes my job very easy. They picked a great location for the photos and the weather worked out beautifully! My drive up there (about 2 hours) started out fairly cool and grey and by the time I got there, it was lighter, but still cloudy, which was the perfect natural soft box for the shoot! The sun did start to peek out occasionally at the end, then we knew it was time to leave. The location…Granite Falls, about 10 miles south of the Canadian border and it was a very short hike from the parking to the falls and as you can see, it was perfect! I love the beauty of the great outdoors, combined with the natural beauty of a young woman as well as her family! Here are a few shots from that morning!

Now, it’s back to work on more photos…and I’ll post again later…with more photos from a session, or some of my own, just for fun ones!

At the lake…

I’ve been at Hayden Lake, in Idaho, the past couple of days and will be here for another week, staying with my mom. My brother, Scott, and his family are here right now as well. Yesterday I rode in the boat while Scott took the girls (nieces, Samantha, Sydney and friend, Sarah) tubing on the lake. What fun, remembering the days Scott and I used to do that for hours, days and weeks on end, but ohhh, I don’t think my body could handle that anymore!!!! Much more fun to watch, laugh and of course, photograph!! I got some cute shots, and the girls loved seeing what they went through while out there! With the choppy waters, I ended up deleting many as it was hard to keep the camera focused on them. Enjoy!

WHOA!!!

Look, no hands! :~)

Piece of cake…this is easy…

YIKES…hold on tight!!!!!!!!!!!

Sydney and Sarah survived the ride…and for Sarah, it was her second one since she rode with Samantha earlier…wow, those arms have got to be sore!

Leavenworth Wedding

This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing a wedding for a darling couple in Leavenworth, Washington. Friday afternoon we headed over the pass, the drive was a little over two hours and the clouds cleared as soon as we reached the pass…it was nice to see the sun! Andrew Shultz and Cayse Harum were the bride and groom and we had met them earlier this spring and had been looking forward to capturing a special day in their lives. Friday evening we were at the rehearsal and had the pleasure of meeting both of their families (we already knew Andrew’s dad and step-mom, Lee and Millie) and the wedding party. What a great group! Featherwinds Inn, about 15 miles outside of Leavenworth is where this event took place. What a lovely place and the staff there was very helpful. The wedding was Saturday at 5:30, so we had some sunshine to contend with, but that sure beats rain and/or wind…it really was a lovely evening! Here are some photos from the wedding!

The bride making final adjustments to her gown with the help of her bridesmaids. Her dress was handmade by her mom, also her maid of honor, and it was GORGEOUS…incredible work, Cindy!

Cayse gets a hug from her dad, Chet, before becoming “Mrs. Andrew Shultz!”

Andrew finally gets a chance to see his bride, in all her beauty…a few moments for just the two of them before everything begins!

The wedding party…what a great looking group!

The first dance as “Mr. and Mrs. Shultz!”

Girls just wanna have fun! I had fun during the dancing…slowed down the shutter speed and used rear sync for the flash to get this fun photo!
