A few more…

Just wrapping up the photos for Megan and Derek’s gallery from there session a couple weeks ago…and couldn’t leave a few more alone…just had to edit and share! This couple is great…enjoy!

Derek & Megan {Renton-Snoqualmie Engagement Photographer}

I can’t tell you how much fun my husband and I had when we met up with Derek and Megan last Saturday for their engagement session. We met them at Derek’s parents home in Renton, where the reception for the wedding will be held…what a GREAT location and it’s right on a small lake, Shady Lake. We also has the pleasure of meeting Derek’s parents who were so nice…looking forward to talking with them more on the wedding day. Of course, I’m a “water gal” and love any location with water, so was excited we were starting out there. And, how lucky could we be…the weather was GORGEOUS…sunny and warm and after all the gray skies and rain we’d had the past week (two, three, month….), I took this as a sign that the wedding day will be wonderful as well and they’ll have a long and happy marriage! After shooting around that location, we piled into our car and headed up to Snoqualmie, to a park where the wedding will be. Wow, what a great location…such an amazing view and the spot for the wedding is perfect. It was great to hear all the plans so we could have an idea of how it’ll be set up and plan for that day. We enjoyed shooting around that area and we even were a bit warm, but no one complained as that’s something rare around here lately!

Our session came to an end and we drove back and dropped of Derek and Megan…they are so much fun and as you can see in the photos, they are totally in love with one another…and oh, so cute…I could have photographed them all day! Oh wait, I will be on their wedding day!!! And, just over a month until that exciting day…oh, how I look forward to sharing with them a day that will carry them forward into their new life as husband and wife!

San Diego Wedding…Jones ~ Wheeler

Back home again and it’s great to be back, I sure missed home, my husband, our dog and of course, my granddaughter! California was wonderful…not quite as warm as I would have hoped for, but you won’t hear me complaining, I still enjoyed my time there and especially having the opportunity to meet and get to know Kamie and John. The family session (previous post) was perfect to get acquainted before the wedding, even if the weather wasn’t quite what we would have wanted.
The wedding was beautiful and I don’t think they could have had a better day that week…the weather was ideal…comfortable temperature, no wind, no fog and best of all, no rain…just about perfect! Of course, it wouldn’t have mattered to John and Kamie what the weather was, because at the end of the day they became “Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler!”
I was honored to be asked to photography their special day and it was my pleasure to meet their family and friends…who were all so kind and a pleasure to visit with. I must say that a couple of people stand out from that evening…Cash, who was the ring bearer…he was a character…such personality and I was impressed that at his young age, he didn’t think twice about walking down the aisle…he was great! Another individual would be Cash’s mom, Brandi, who was VERY pregnant (and had been in the hospital with contractions the day before!)…and she did it all and on the dance floor, WOW…I give her the award for the most time on the dance floor!! Kamie sent me a note today and said that Brandi is still waiting for the newest family member to arrive…but that it will be any day…I must say, I truly expected her to deliver that night after all she did that day! Brandi gave a very touching speech/toast to Kamie and John…it is obvious that they have been great friends and have been there for each other through thick and thin! And, the best man, Dan, also gave a heartfelt toast and wished both Kamie and John the best for years to come.
Here’s a sample of some of the events that wonderful evening at Tom Hams Lighthouse on Shelter Island in San Diego…great couple, family, friends and beautiful location…
CONGRATULATIONS JOHN and KAMIE

I also would like to thank my brother, Scott Hege, for being such a great assistant…I couldn’t have done half the job without him! It was the first wedding he’d “worked” at and although he said it was a bit nerve wracking at times, he said it was a blast and he also enjoyed meeting everyone!
